Tonight saw the first Ghost tour with our brand new display – a stainless steel morgue table.  Luckily everyone survived the morgue …… tonight!

The Geelong Gaol was known throughout the colony as the “Prison of the Ill”.  It would be here that you would be sent from other gaols in the colony if you were sick, dying, or in need of special medical care.  And for this reason the death rate here was much higher.  If you were to die in prison then your body could be used to increase medical knowledge of anatomy and so a morgue table would have been an essential piece of equipment.

Are you ready to lie upon the cold steel in the morgue …….

On this day ………… 12th February 2010

Beginning on the evening of 12 February 2010, some regions of Sydney were inundated by strong rain and localised flash flooding. The storms produced some of the highest rainfalls seen in the area over a decade, with 88 millimetres (3.5 in) recorded in Hornsby and 73 millimetres (2.9 in) in Mona Vale over just one hour.[17] The storms continued through to 14 February, with a maximum daily rainfall for the year of 332 millimetres (13.1 in) recorded at Tuross Head. Some areas of the northwest and southeast were declared natural disaster zones. The State Emergency Service received over 1500 distress calls, with damages exceeding A$6 million in western regions.

What a great night we had on our very first investigation of the Blackwood Hotel.  The Hotel certainly lived up to its reputation as a haunted Hotel!

Our night began with a lovely meal – 10 different parmi’s to choose from!  Followed by a walk through the Blackwood Cemetery with Lou and then a paranormal investigation for the remainder of the night under the guidance of the Twisted History team!

There were many personal experiences of people getting touched and poked at! Lots of Ghost Meter Pro activity as well as K2 and Rem Pod hits. We had activity in the Parlour, the Cellar where the morgue slab is and in Room 3, there were some shadow figures seen behind some of the customers.

It was a very enjoyable night and we will be doing another investigation here very soon!  We would like to thank the staff of the Blackwood Hotel for being so welcoming!!

If you would like to book for a Blackwood Hotel investigation or on our other tours of the Geelong Goal or in Chinatown or Carlton, then give us a call on 1300865800.
